Extending an existing fiber network

Task: Connect a new customer in the grey building top right.

Creating new customer node and route

The first step is to place a new customer connection node. The new node is linked to the existing network with a route object.

Adding pipes and cables

Now add contents to the route: pipes and cables. Pipes and sub pipes may be placed in the route. In this case a single fiber cable is placed inside one of the pipes.

Create ODF

Now add equipment to the customer node. In this case a wall-mounted ODF is placed inside the node SA 1.

Splice fibers in joint

In this step fibers are spliced in the joint closure: 4 fibers in the new cable are spliced to 4 fibers in the other existing cable.

Fiber connection in ODF

In this next step the same 4 fibers in the new cable are connected to 4 connectors in the new ODF. A connection object is created and displayed in the map.
